A reading log is more fun when you can see your books. The Book Tracker keeps every book you read in one file, with a rating, the dates you read it and its place in a series.

The Series view helps you pick the next book to read, the Cover Gallery shows your books as covers, and rereads are recorded as separate reads of the same book. The Dashboard sums up what you have read by year, with pages, ratings and a yearly goal.

It is a digital download for Excel and Google Sheets, with room for large libraries: up to 5,000 books and 10,000 reading records. A second Excel file comes already filled with 32 books, 3 series and a reading history, so you can explore it before adding your own.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work in Excel and Google Sheets?

Yes. You get an Excel file and a PDF guide with a link to make your own copy in Google Sheets. The two versions are separate files.

Which Excel versions work?

Excel 365 for Windows gives the best result. The cover gallery needs Excel 365 or Google Sheets; Excel 2019 and older do not show it, but everything else works. Excel for Mac is not tested.

Do I need an internet connection?

Only for the cover gallery, which loads covers online from Open Library using the ISBN. Not every edition has a cover, and you can add your own image link.

What is the example file?

A copy of the Book Tracker already filled with 32 books, 3 series and a reading history, so you can see how every sheet looks before you add your own books.
